PERSONAL STATEMENT
I am an IT Professional who is friendly, easy going and enjoys working as part of a team. I learn and adapt to new computer systems and software quickly, and perform tasks in a complete and efficient manner. My family background in farming has given me a practical approach to life and the skills to cope with many problems and challenges.
I am an honest person who works hard to achieve the desired results.

EMPLOYMENT HISTORY

As part of a front line support team I was responsible for solving and co-ordinating PC, Mainframe and Network problems. This involved communicating with users at all levels from computer illiterate to technical managers. The team dealt with problems as diverse as a single user password reset to mainframe failures affecting thousands of users.

I was part of a team of seven consultants who supported a client server financial application called "Aptos". Aptos was developed in Uniface 4GL and used an Oracle SQL engine running on UNIX & VMS platforms. The team investigated and corrected system and database problems for multinational clients. My knowledge of financial systems and technical understanding of the product enabled me to specialise in business critical problems. I was regularly responsible for manning a 24 hour support line.

Minerva is a small company which supplies educational software and equipment to primary and secondary schools. My responsibilities included coding C modules, system testing and creation of user documentation. As well as my duties within the programming team I was often responsible for telephone support and on-site assistance.

I was part of a team which maintained and developed IBM manufacturing systems using PL/1 and DB2 on IBM 3090 mainframes. During my employment I was presented an IBM award for proposing and developing a new Management Reporting System for which I also provided training and technical support to the users.

My experiences with these cultures have broadened my knowledge and given me an appreciation of worldwide issues.
