My IJA History

July '87 - I found out about the IJA from a friend in MENSA. I got my membership info in the mail on the Thursday just before the 40th Convention in Akron, Ohio. Too little time to arrange to go. Rats!

Aug '87 - Joined the Jersey Jugglers and was on my way!

Jul '88 - DENVER, Colorado- My first convention.

July '89 - BALTIMORE, Maryland - I made the mistake (?) of sitting next to Craig Barnes who was the Championships Director. I didn't know at the time, but this was the start of it all. After talking to him for a while, he asked me if I'd like to be his

July '90 - LOS ANGELES, California - I became the Director of Senior and Teams Championships under Laura Green (interesting choice of words there eh?).

July '91 - ST. LOUIS, Missouri - I continued as Senior Champs Director and was elected to the Board as Director of Video Production.

Jul '92 - MONTREAL, Canada - I produced the first Juniors Video and it SELLS OUT!

July '93 - FARGO, North Dakota - Continued as Director of Videos and was married at the Fest. I was also named as the liaison to the Guinness Book of World Records and produced the second Juniors Video.

Aug '94 - BURLINGTON, Vermont - Still Video Director. I fired Don Reed and hired Alan Plotkin to make the Festival Videos. I produced and edited "The Best of Club Renegade - Vol.1" video and was elected to a new 2 year term on the Board.

Jul '95 - LAS VEGAS, Nevada - Still Video Director. Had my baby Alex and brought him to his first Festival at 3 months old. Maybe he'll be able to compete with Anthony Mills for most festivals.

Jul '96 - Center City, South Dakota - I may not run again for the board. Who knows?

Jul '97 - PITTSBURGH, Pennsylvania (tentatively scheduled). This will be the 50th anniversary of the IJA. The first meeting/convention was held here.
