Another Great Fest for Madison

Mary Ellen Duffy

The 1995 47th Annual Madfest was great. Parking was limited this year as there was no parking on the lake. We brought home a "kringle" and some white, super sharp cheddar, a locally printed newspaper in the Deutsche language, and lots of wonderful festival memories. The Madison public enjoyed the festival at least as much as the jugglers. They observed and participated and came to the terrific show prepared for them, which included a fine mix of humor, ingenuity, artistry, technique and audience participation. You know, that pretty much describes the entire weekend. There were workshops, games (unicycle hockey, combat), and competitions. The winners of the 3-legged joggling race were Rob Kobus and Dave Linton. Mike Ferguson won the 5-ball endurance (7:50) and the Unicycle Slow Race was won by Connie Cotter. There were so many attending the festival that more space had to be found. The show sold out. Congratulations on another huge success.
