Shine on, Harvest Moon (1944)

Biography of the early 20th century Broadway stars Nora Bayes and Jack Norworth.

This movie is interesting for having both of the two prominent juggling teams that were appearing in movies at this time. These were the Johnson Brothers and The Shattucks. It is also interesting to note that this is the only movie we are aware of in which both Duke and Harry Johnson appear, but individually and not as a team. Only Harry does the juggling here, as Duke has a non-juggling role as a vaudevillian.

At 1:00:35, Harry Johnson does some 3 ball juggling at a party, with a few tricks, for about 4 seconds.

At 1:38:37, and for the next 90 seconds, The Shattucks, Ward Shattuck and Ethel Shattuck, are seen three times, performing their juggling act on a vaudeville stage. In the first one, they pass 6 rings for about 10 seconds. In the second, they are passing 3 clubs, and Ethel seems to angrily throw the clubs extremely hard at Ward. In the third, they do their finish of Ethel throwing many rings to Ward one at a time quickly while he catches them over his body.
