Japan. A young, naive boy sets out alone on the road to find his wayward mother. Soon he finds an unlikely protector in a crotchety man and the two have a series of unexpected adventures along the way.
When the taxi Kikujiro steals breaks down, they are forced to hitchhike to
Toyohashi, and get a lift from a girl juggler, played by Fumie Hosokawa,
and her boyfriend on a date.
At 50:56, Fumie Hosokawa juggles 3 oranges, with a few simple tricks,
followed by Kikujiro attempting to juggle, unsuccessfully, all for
1 minute.
