Call for Participation

We invite your participation in the premier conference on the leading edge of the advancement of object-manipulation technology. It may sound like a dry technical seminar on the art and science of juggling and unicycling, but it's really ONE BIG PARTY!

The Illini Juggling and Unicycle Club welcomes you (yes, you!) to our first-in-a-very-long-time gala juggling event. Thrill to the sight of all your friends passing clubs near active volcanoes! Unicycle under the waves with schools of brightly colored tropical fish! Work on your numbers in our new lunar research base! Pass with specially-trained penguins at our easily-accessible Antarctic juggling station!

Well, not really. But we do offer a host of enticing facilities and activities for your juggling and unicycling pleasure: Saturday's events will be held at the Champaign National Guard Armory, which houses a large gymnasium, showers, classrooms for workshops, and a stage for the Public Show. LaReauFest (Fergie calls it ``the premier juggling party in the U.S.'') returns for 1996 on Saturday night, and festivities resume Sunday at the mammoth University of Illinois Armory (NOT the same place as Saturday!).

Parties

We know what's really important at a juggling festival. That's why we're offering not just one, but two parties. You just try and find another juggling festival in east central Illinois this weekend that offers you as much!

LaReauFest '96

Saturday, March 23, 10:00 PM.
Chris LaReau and Belle will be hosting the definitive juggling party Saturday night after the Public Show.

Vendors

Vendors of juggling props and other cool stuff are welcome to sell their wares at the gym on Saturday (no fee for a table!). Unfortunately, due to University regulations, no vending can be allowed on Sunday.

Vendors who would like to purchase advertising space in the printed program for the Public Show should contact Dave or Chris.

How You Can Help

We need you! We need performers for the Saturday night Public Show! We need people to teach workshops! Public Show acts will be professionally video taped at no cost to the performer. If you can help us out, please get in touch with us ASAP!

How to Get Here

Champaign-Urbana is easily accessible via Interstate routes 57 and 74. A map of Champaign-Urbana and the Champaign area can be found at http://www.intermatic.com/. All directions are given from the Neil St. exit on I-74:

Troy's Party (Friday Night):

205 E. Stoughton, Apt. 12, Champaign.
Go south on Neil, left (east) on Springfield, left (north) on Third St., and left (west) on Stoughton. Parking is on the northwest corner of Stoughton and Third.

National Guard Armory (Saturday):

109 E. Park Ave, Champaign.
Go south on Neil, left (east) on University, right (south) on 2nd St., then an immediate right into the parking lot on the corner. The Armory is located one block to the north of the parking lot. Additional parking is available at the intersection of Park Ave. and First St., just north of the police station.

LaReauFest (Saturday Night):

901 E. Shurts St., Urbana.
Go south on Neil all the way through town. Take a left (east) on Windsor Road through two lights and a stop sign, then left (north) on Vine St.. Go two blocks, then right on Shurts. 901 is on the right side of the street, past the stop sign, and NOT on a corner as the number might suggest.

U of I Armory (Sunday):

505 E Armory, Champaign.
Go south on Neil, left (east) on Green, right (south) on Fourth St., then left (east) on Gregory. The Armory is on the left; parking is on the right.
