Annual Last-Ever Bloomington Juggle Fest

Not Again!??! Not Really???!!!!! Oh yes. Be a part of History... Attend the very last (and this time we really, REALLY mean it!) Bloomington Juggle Fest

Return to the heyday of Bloomington juggling glory, where you can have more fun than you can shake a devilstick at.

You can't afford Not to attend, because the price is too right. (It's freer than free, even)

• Juggling Legends; Jay Gilligan, Fritz Grobe, and Morty Hansen, collectively known as Blink (winners of the IJA 1995 teams competition)!
• Newest member of the Bloomington Club, outrageously good juggler and ball-spinning extraordinaire, Sean Blue!
• The guy who won the 3 foot statue with the gold yoyo on it at the 1995 YoYo World Championships and shook hands with Tommy Smothers, Mark Hayward!
• You! (if you come)
• Your Friends! (if they come)

There will be juggling, more juggling, and then even more juggling. But that is not all. Other cool stuff happening:

• Ca$h Prize and good loot to the carload driving in from the furthest location.
• Fabulous raffle with grand prizes for the attendees (and big promotional plugs for the generous donating vendors!).
• 1995 IJA Gold Medal teams winner Blink will be performing in a local venue.
• Impromptu workshops.
• Silly competitions (remember Jack Kalvin's skillful performance in the tootsie roll toss-n-turn? the lottery of odd objects competition?).
• No souvineer tshirt to clutter up your already over-crowded tshirt drawer!
• Crash space available -- Be sure to bring your sleeping bag, pillow and (don't panic!) towel. Showers are available at the gym site. rsvp if you need crashspace.
• we buy the pizza!

Bloomington is in the heart of beautiful southern Indiana, with spectacular fall folliage rivaling New England (but it's not as cold, and people don't poke you when they talk to you, the way they do in the east).

The spacious gym is unicycle and jumprope friendly, and located on the Indiana University campus, conveniantly near food and drink. They will try to get the slackrope set up, too.

Note: let them know if you want to organize a workshop. Let them know what workshops you would be interested in attending. Bring the equipment for your favorite juggling game.

How to get there: Get yourself to Indianapolis, Indiana. It's in the center. We are about an hour south of Indy, so take 465 (the big loop around Indy) to Highway 37 south, and we are about 45 minutes away. Or, you may choose to take 465 around to Highway 67, and go through Mooresville, exit to Martinsville and take 37 south from there, but be careful, because it's one big speedtrap the whole way, although far more scenic.

Note: This is a first announcement. more details will follow as they are developed -- we finally got clearance on the gymspace, Blink is coming and the fest is on! a follow-up post will contain more info, including a map, but please do mark your calenders now, schedule your vacation time, plant the seeds of potential illness with your employer, because we hope to see you here. you'll need a break ... c'mon, have some fun!

Additional Note: yes, sorry, we do know that there is another fest going on that same weekend and we heartily apologize for any inconveniance or conflict this may cause. really, we'd rather go to someone else's fest, too, and really we couldn't have picked a worse weekend to invite you all over for a party anywaay, but it is the only weekend that fritz and morty and jay are going to be here, since they scheduled the arts center already and their show dates are set, so what were we to do? we just have to make the best of it and settle for our own quiet little event, and we quite understand if you have a prior committment, and, again, we apologize to the juggling community for throwing a spanner in the works.
