Details
Check out Michael Hennecke's WWW pages for more information. This is likely to be more up to date than the information here.

Also, there's a Göteborg tourist Web Page which you may find useful information in.

Site and Accommodation
The venue is Skatås (ska-toes), an open air leisure centre, on the edge of a nature reserve, 5 mins from the city centre. Skatås has a track for rollerblading or unicycling, frisbee golf, swimming, did we mention the sauna and hot tub? A nearby sports complex will house workshops, and juggling and unicycling halls 24 hrs a day.

Camping on site with tents or vans is plentiful! - space for 200 tents and 150 camping vehicles (no electricity, water or waste hook-ups). Sleeping place in schools (first come, first served). If you plan on staying in a Youth Hostel (2km away), budget hotel or not-so-budget hotel, let them know immediately, so they can help you book it.

Food
Will be provided at low cost by Göteborg's best vegetarian restaurant, Solrosen.

Workshops
These will be the focus of the convention. Workshops planned in the usual arts: balls, clubs, rings, club swinging, diabalo, devil stick, balloon sculpture, etc. More teachers are wanted for these arts, and many more on both the beginner and advanced levels. Teachers interested in attending, please get in touch at once.

Public Show
To be held at Göteborg's Statsteater. They will be having some fantastic acts from all over the world. If you are interested in sharing the limelight, please get in touch - they will be happy to have you!

The Games
Outrageous competitions are planned for this year. Be sure to practice for all the traditional competitions as well as the 2 and 4 person volleyclub championships to be held during the whole convention.

Child Care
This will be provided daily at no charge, extra hours will be available for care during the public show. We hope that parents using the creche volunteer a couple of hours during the week.

Traders
Please get in touch as soon as possible to reserve your shop on-site.

Travel
Jules Howarth at the address below is attempting to co-ordinate travel from the UK. Contact him if you are interested in saving money on the trip.

Snöbollen is attempting to get a discount price for travel with ferry boats from various countries. Contact them for information or keep an eye on Kascade.

Also, The Catch office have been looking into getting discounts for group bookings. So why not fly Catch Airlines! The cheapest deal and fun too! Special in-flight edition of The Catch!! Party Pack (maybe). £181 (adults), £131 under 12's - inclusive of coach to the site and airport taxes. The flight leaves Heathrow at 10.10am on Friday 11th August, the return flight has not yet been confirmed but should be Friday 18th, maybe Saturday. They're working on a group deal for insurance if you're interested. Priority will be given to those who first contacted them - if you want to add yourself to the baggage, then get in touch with then as soon as possible (Tel: (44) 01275 332 655).

Train: walk through Nordstan's shopping centre to Brunnsparken, catch the No.5 bus towards Torp, get off at Welandergartan, follow the sighs to Skatas.

Car: From the North, take the E6 bound for Göteborg-Malmö, and take the exit that says "Centrum, Garda, Kärralund, then drive towards Kärralund and follow the convention signs. From the South, take the E6 bound for Göteborg-Oslo, take the same exit as above.... From the East, take the [40] towards Göteborg, and when the [40] merges with the E6, do not get on the E6!! but get off at the exit, drive towards Kärralund and follow the convention signs.

From the Airport: Take the airport bus to Korsvägen, change to the No. 5 towards Torp, and get off at Welandergartan.

Boats from Germany or Denmark: Catch the No. 9 tram towards Angered, change to the No. 5 bus at Brunnsparken, get off at Welandergartan and follow the signs.

Boats from England or Amsterdam: Catch bus to the central train station and follow the by Train instructions.

In any case, always follow the road signs with the juggling elk.

World Cup Athletic Championships
These are being held in Göteborg the week before the convention - finishing on 13th August. At least 30,000 people will be in town to watch the event, so street performers could make a killing.

International Festival of Dance and Theatre
This is taking place between the 18th and 30th August, and may feature some top jugglers in its programme.

Water festival
This is taking place in Stockholm from 11 - 20 August, featuring Circus Oz.
Snöbollen wants to break all attendance records and hopes to see over 2500 jugglers come to town for the week.

Snöbollen would like to see other records broken as well, if you feel up to challenging a World Record or any other records set at the IJA convention last summer, you will be well received in Göteborg. As always, the convention needs your help to run smoothly and efficiently, come prepared to volunteer a little time during the week.
