4th Annual Bay Area Fall Footbag Festival

When
10am-6pm, Oct. 8-9, 1994

Where
San Francisco, California
In "Peacock Meadow" in Golden Gate Park. Peacock Meadow is one block EAST of the Conservatory of Flowers inside Golden Gate Park, on JFK Drive, in San Francisco. The meadow is also one block WEST of Stanyan St. (which borders the park on the east side). If you take US-101 to the City, exit at the Fell St./Laguna Exit, and follow Fell St. all the way until it enters Golden Gate Park. If you bear right, you will be on JFK Drive, and we will be about a block down on the right before the Conservatory. NOTE: JFK Drive is closed on Sundays at Stanyan St., so you will need to park near there and walk in. If you get lost, ask directions to JFK Drive and the Conservatory of Flowers (it's a big white building set back off the street with a nice lawn). Once you find the Conservatory, go to the street in front of the conservatory, face the Conservatory, and turn RIGHT -- we're less than a block down past the trees on the LEFT.

Details
Come join the Bay Area Footbag League for our fourth annual Fall Footbag Festival. There are two main events:
PRO/AM Footbag Net
Novice and inexperienced players are paired up with more experienced players (including world class footbag athletes from the Bay Area) for free instruction in a tournament format against other Pro/Am teams. You simply have to sign up by 10:30am on either day for two or three hours of footbag fun -- there is a different tournament each day starting at 11am.

Freestyle
We will have a new freestyle event for intermediate and experienced freestylers to show off their stuff! There will be a different event each day.

In addition to the organized events, there will be kicking circles galore in the grass (both days) and out on the street on JFK Drive (on Sunday only). There will also be freestyle demos by some of the world's best, as well as "holes" for footbag golf practice.

Whether you're a professional player or just looking to have fun, this is a GREAT OPPORTUNITY to meet players and enjoy the energy of our growing sport. ** We'll provide the nets and space -- you just bring your kickin' shoes, a footbag, and your friends! (Be sure to pack a lunch, and bring LOTS OF WATER. The nearest water and food is about 5-10 minutes' walk from the site.) **
