Reservations are due by December 1. Take a mid-winter juggling vacation in termperate Las Vegas, where you can see the Great Ones on the big stages, then return to the juggling hall to try those moves yourself! The IJA invites you to its first Winter Juggling Festival, to be held in the 9,600-square-foot Nachez Complex at the Showboat Hotel in Las Vegas. Registration for the festival is just $50 ($75 for non-IJA members), and rooms in the hotel are equally reasonably priced. One or two people in one room is $21.60 per night, three people $27.00, and four people $32.40. To make a room reservation, call 1-800-826-2800 and use hotel code IJA 1033. There is one night's deposit to hold the room (or use a credit card number) and you may cancel your reservation up to 48-hours before your stay with no penalty. Rooms for Saturday, Jan. 9, are available at the Showboat Hotel on an availability basis, but because of a large trade show coming to town that weekend, you should book early if you plan to stay that night. Your IJA registration fee covers 24-hour juggling in the Nachez Complex and a cocktail party with Anthony and Nick Gatto and Nino and Romano Frediani. There will, of course, be nightly excursions to shows on the Strip to see jugglers like Anthony Gatto, Dave & Sean, Gregory Popovich, Michael Godeau, David Lucas, and Tim St. John. Show prices are about $18.00. But there is more than juggling for you in Las Vegas in January! See Hoover Dam and Lake Mead, go horseback riding at Bonnie Springs Ranch, or snow skiing just 45 minutes away at Mt. Charleston/Lee Canyon. You can try rock climbing in Red Rock Canyon (call Richard Dingman at 413/367-9398 for more information), or check out the Ethel M. chocolate factory, the Liberace Museum, or Wayne Newton's garage sale!
